Trusted Sclerotherapy Treatment Specialists Near You

At Kafri Wellness, we offer a non-surgical solution for varicose vein treatment in San Diego. Sclerotherapy is a form of treatment where the doctor injects medicine into the blood vessels’ lymph vessels that causes them to shrink. It is commonly used to treat varicose veins or so-called spider veins.

Procedures are performed directly in the office, and anesthesia is not required. Patients have minimal pain and discomfort. There is no scarring whatsoever to worry about. There is also no downtime, so it is a good choice if people want to improve their bodies without having to take time away from work or family obligations. Nobody has to know you had a procedure done because there will be no tell-tale signs of surgery. You won’t have to take time off work, either.

Sclerotherapy can be performed with any skin type and complexion. After three or five sessions (on average), problem veins will collapse and begin disappearing. Over a period of about three to six months, the treated veins will completely disappear from view. We offer a diagnostic workup and recommend management such as compression stockings as well as a wide variety of treatment options that include vein ablation, and phlebectomy.

San Diego Sclerotherapy Treatment Frequently Asked Questions

Veins that are treated will eventually fade, but new veins can develop gradually over time. However, the existing veins that respond to treatment will not return.

There are a few mild possible side effects such as the presence of raised, red areas at the location of your injection that last just a couple of days. Additionally, bruising may occur and could last a couple of weeks.

Sclerotherapy uses an irritating solution called a sclerosant, which is injected directly into a vein or lymph vessel. The solution irritates the vessel, causing it to swell. This swelling cuts off the flow of blood or lymphatic fluid and the vessel shrinks.

Studies of sclerotherapy as a treatment for varicose and spider veins indicate that it has an overall success rate of about 60 to 80 percent in eliminating treated veins.

Because this procedure requires injections through the skin, it is not a painless procedure. Some chemicals that are injected (sclerosants) are more likely to cause pain than others.

Sclerotherapy also does NOT worsen existing veins or cause more spider veins to form.
