What is a venous reflux ultrasound?
A venous insufficiency ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging procedure. It uses high-frequency sound waves to produce an image of the veins in your legs. This image can then be used to diagnose reflux in the veins.
How do you diagnose a venous reflux ultrasound?
During a typical venous reflux ultrasound exam, the first part of the exam will be taking an ultrasound of the veins in your legs to check that the veins are open and blood is flowing. The second part of the exam then includes applying pressure to the legs or having the patient stand while again taking an ultrasound. This helps your doctor see the flow of the blood and determine whether the veins are properly working.

As a new patient I was greeted warmly, staff proficiently checked my vitals, EKG, reviewed meds which prepared Nurse Practicioner Kim (who was great -- 5 stars) to review my prious ultrasound, and performed the cardio exam.
