Understanding Interventional Cardiology

Interventional cardiology services can bring you back to health with minimally invasive procedures. Interventional cardiology detects and addresses cardiac and vascular issues before they become life-threatening.

Interventional cardiology is a non-surgical procedure that uses a small catheter to repair weak or damaged blood vessels and heart valve and structure defects that would otherwise have to be repaired by open heart.

Interventional Cardiology Procedures Explained

Interventional cardiology ensures that all blood in our patient’s body flows properly. Any stagnation or clotting can cause a stroke or heart attack. Catheters are used to repair, alter, or replace vessels or valves. One of the most common procedures is angioplasty, which uses a catheter to find a blockage in an artery. We will then use a tiny balloon to push away cholesterol buildup.

If you are in need of an interventional cardiology procedure, please contact Kafri

Interventional Cardiology FAQ

Interventional cardiology involves the use of minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat heart conditions. These procedures often use catheters and imaging guidance to treat issues such as blocked arteries, heart valve problems, and structural heart defects.

Interventional cardiology procedures are minimally invasive, often resulting in shorter recovery times, less pain, and reduced risk of complications compared to traditional open-heart surgery. They can also improve symptoms and quality of life for patients with heart disease.

Your cardiologist will evaluate your symptoms, medical history, and results from diagnostic tests to determine if an interventional procedure is the best treatment option for your condition.

These procedures are generally not painful, as they are performed under local anesthesia and sedation. You may feel some pressure during the procedure, but most patients experience little to no discomfort.

Dr Kafri and his staff are very caring. They are also a full service office that performs almost all the tests that are necessary. I've been having a very particular problem that Dr Kafri is determined to solve. I've been coming here since 2022.

Very professional office setting and staff. As a new patient I was greeted warmly, staff proficiently checked my vitals, EKG, reviewed meds which prepared Nurse Practicioner Kim (who was great -- 5 stars) to review my prious ultrasound, and performed the cardio exam. Kim was effecient, actively listened, was a clear communicator, and addressed my concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Kafri Heart Vascular Clinic.

All the staff were very helpful, patient, and friendly. They were also very accommodating with honoring my request to wait 5 minutes before taking my blood pressure so I could relax a bit to ensure a more accurate blood pressure reading. I REALLY appreciate that! 😊💜

I had a ball with the person who interviewed me, he has a great personality. Dr. Yoa was super and he has a great listening skill. I felt very good about his attention and responses. I left knowing, all about my future care and what's happening now. Way to go all. From the first person, to the last person I spoke with, the staff was the friendly, organized, and the doctor super, so my visit was amazing! Thank you!
