Learn More About The Leg Vein Treatments We Offer in El Cajon
At Kafri Wellness Center, we offer several different varicose vein treatments, such as endovenous ablation, phlebectomy, and sclerotherapy.
Endovenous ablation is a procedure to close off varicose veins. Endovenous means that the procedure is done inside the vein. Ablation means that we will use heat to damage and close off the vein by inserting a needle and wire into the vein. This procedure is not painful and is designed to ease pain, swelling, and irritation caused by varicose veins. Dr. Kafri and his team offer all forms of endovenous ablation, including Laser, Radiofrequency, and Steam ablation. The procedure does not require anesthesia, typically takes an hour, and patients may return home afterward. Many people work the next day. While there may be some discomfort for a week, you’ll be able to walk immediately after the procedure and do most of your day-to-day activities.
A Phlebectomy is a minimally invasive procedure using a specialty hook to gently remove the varicose veins manually that are not too deep under the skin. Ambulatory phlebotomy is a method of removing large, bulging varicosities. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia administered in the doctor’s office.
Sclerotherapy is a form of vein treatment where the doctor injects medicine into the blood vessels’ lymph vessels that causes them to shrink. It is commonly used to treat varicose veins or so-called spider veins. Procedures are performed directly in the office, and anesthesia is not required. Patients have minimal pain and discomfort. There is no scarring whatsoever to worry about. There is also no downtime, so it is a good choice if people want to improve their bodies without having to take time away from work or family obligations.

El Cajon Leg Vein Treatment FAQs
How do you get rid of veins on your legs?
Sclerotherapy is one of the most effective methods for treating leg veins. In this method, your doctor injects a solution or foam into smaller-sized varicose veins, scarring and closing them. Varicose veins that have been treated should disappear in a few weeks. Sclerotherapy is effective if done correctly, even if the same veins need to be injected multiple times.
What is the best treatment for leg veins?
As mentioned before, the most common treatment for leg veins is sclerotherapy. Dermatologists have improved sclerotherapy over time to make treatment safer and provide better results for patients. We use it in our own office to treat spider veins and minor varicose veins.
How expensive is sclerotherapy?
What is the cost of spider vein treatment? According to 2019 figures from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the average cost of spider vein treatment (sclerotherapy) is $343, while the average cost of laser treatment for leg veins is $443.
Does insurance cover spider vein treatment?
Unfortunately, most insurance plans would say that spider vein therapy is not a medical necessity. As a result, the majority of spider vein treatments are deemed cosmetic. Disliking the look of your veins is not considered medically necessary; however, having symptoms usually is. Aching, heaviness, discomfort, throbbing, leg tiredness, frequent nighttime cramps, itching, swelling, and restless legs are all common venous symptoms. An examination by a vein specialist can help you identify if there is any pathology beneath the skin that meets medical requirements.
Is walking good for leg veins?
Walking is especially beneficial for persons who suffer from varicose veins because it is a low-impact exercise. There’s no jarring impact or pounding of your legs here; just a basic action that strengthens your calf muscles without putting your body under too much stress.
How can I improve the veins in my legs?
Raise your legs. Your veins will appreciate a break from their hard work by elevating your legs for at least 15 minutes every day. Exercise on a regular basis. Circulation is one of the most serious problems that patients with vein problems face. Compression stockings can be worn as needed to improve blood flow.
What exercise is best for varicose veins?
Low-impact activities are best for varicose veins. Here’s a short list of ones you can try:
- You can either walk or run. Walking for 30 minutes five days a week can provide significant benefits.
- Leg raises. To enjoy the benefits of this exercise, you have to do them on a daily basis.
- Bicycling or Bicycle Legs. Cycling or using a stationary bike is also beneficial.
- Lunges.
- Rocking Your Feet is a fun way to pass the time.
- Calf Raises (Standing Calf Raises).
How can I get rid of leg veins without surgery?
Most problem veins can be addressed without surgery, from the smallest spider veins to even some larger varicose veins. Heat, surgical glues, or compound solvents can be injected into the veins to close them, and are some of the most popular treatments (sclerotherapy).
Can leg veins go away naturally?
Varicose and spider veins do not disappear on their own, however they can fade in appearance. Symptoms may also disappear for a short period of time, especially if you lose weight or increase your physical activity. Your vein symptoms, unfortunately, are likely to recur with time if you do not treat them.
